Brecksville Home Days

Crowd on the Square during Home Days Sep. 10, 1910.

In the early 1900s, many Brecksville residents felt there was a need to have a reunion with those who had moved away from the town.  Eventually it was decided to have a Home Days celebration so that the members of the community could be reunited.  The first Home Days was held in 1904 and was a picnic on the Square.  There was entertainment and a display of farm tools and equipment.  Over 100 years later, this time-honored tradition is still held on the Square during the summer.  And while the entertainment, displays, and food may have changed; the basic purpose is still the same...a time for the community to gather on the Square and enjoy good times; the kind that create fond memories.
