Brecksville Home Days

Crowd on the Square during Home Days Sep. 10, 1910.
In the early 1900s, many Brecksville residents felt there was a need to have a reunion with those who had moved away from the town. Eventually it was decided to have a Home Days celebration so that the members of the community could be reunited. The first Home Days was held in 1904 and was a picnic on the Square. There was entertainment and the display of farm tools and equipment. Over 100 years later, this time honored tradition is still held on the Square during the summer. And while the entertainment, displays, and food may have changed; the basic purpose is still the same...a time for the community to gather on the Square and enjoy good times; the kind that create fond memories.
